Public School 123 is an elementary school with 555 students from 3K through grade 5.
 
The school population comprises of the following: Asian: 11%  Black: 55%  Hispanic or Latinx: 20%  Native American: 10%  Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander: 2%  White: 3% English language learners: 7%  Students with disabilities: 21%  Male: 51%  Female: 49%
 
P.S. 123 implements a standards-based curricula aligned to the Next Generation Learning Standards (NGLS) that integrates the instructional shifts and promotes higher order thinking skills for a diverse group of learners.  As mentioned in the School Quality Guide, P.S. 123 has a rigorous, engaging and coherent curricula aligned to the NGLS. The resources are also aligned to support instructional goals that meet students’ needs.
 
P.S.123Q has strategically instituted new initiatives with Into Reading, Envision Math, F&P Leveled Literacy Intervention, Amira reading, Raz Kids and Freckles. P.S. 123 is continuing to deepen scaffolding of instruction strategically through the use of multiple entry points and supports to ensure that all learners are provided with consistent learning experiences that extend and push their thinking resulting in improved student work products.
